RUBI AI — AI Computer Operator
Computer use combines observation, action and verification. RUBI Desktop connects the assistant to the Windows device you authorize, keeping the difference between opening an application and completing work visible.
Beyond a conversation
A language model does not gain access to a computer simply because it describes a task. It needs a local connection, permission to observe the relevant screen and an allowed method for acting. Even then, accepting an action is not the same as confirming the requested result. RUBI treats these as separate stages.
Inspect a document workflow before changing anything
- 1
Connect the Windows device to your RUBI account.
- 2
Start screen sharing for the screen you want RUBI to inspect.
- 3
Request an allowed application or file action within the approved scope.
- 4
Read back the resulting state before treating the task as complete.

Available controls and recorded evidence
The Desktop edition includes local application and file controls, screen-sharing controls and audit paths. The same account connects the local assistant to conversation and task services. The public function catalog describes these controls; it is not a recording of an operation on your computer.
Connections and operating conditions
Windows control requires RUBI Desktop to be connected and running. Word, PowerPoint and other software must be installed where needed. End-to-end control in an external application depends on the available adapter and a verified result; opening a program alone does not prove a document was edited.
Security and permissions
Screen consent is scoped to the active capture. Stopping clears the screen context. Local tools check permissions, and sensitive changes must follow the owner approval policy rather than instructions embedded in a webpage or document.
Privacy policyQuestions about AI Computer Operator
Can the web assistant operate an offline computer?
No local action can run through a disconnected Desktop device. It needs the device connection and the required local permissions.
Is a capture indicator proof that RUBI read the screen?
No. Capture and successful reading are distinct states. RUBI uses fresh screen context only after the reading succeeds.
